Common questions

Still have a question? Ask Engineering.

What is a cost segregation study?

An engineering study that breaks a commercial building into its components and puts each one in the recovery period the law gives it. Carpet, millwork, site work and similar items move out of the 39-year building and into 5, 7 or 15-year lives, which speeds up depreciation.

Do your studies follow the IRS audit guide?

Yes. Every study follows the IRS Cost Segregation Audit Techniques Guide (CSATG) to the line, and every study is signed off by our Head of Engineering before it is delivered.

Will you help us decide if a study is worth it?

Yes. We work with you and your CPA to build the business case and ROI first. Engineering prepares the estimate, and you get a written, fixed-fee proposal within 24 to 48 hours.

What properties do you study?

All commercial property and multifamily with 5 or more units, in all 50 states.
